Amway is an American multi-level marketing company. Amway used multi-level marketing to sell a variety of products in the beauty, health, and home care markets. Amway combines direct selling and multi-level marketing. The distributors market products to customers, as well as sponsor those who are looking to join the industry to help them become Independent Business Owners. All distributors can earn income from the markup on the products that they sell. Distributors can also receive a performance bonus according to the sales volume that is generated.

Amway was established in 1959 by Richard DeVos and Jay Van Andel . The company is based out of Ada, Michigan. Amway’s line of products include home care and personal care products, electronics, jewelry, and dietary supplements, among other things. Amway operates all over the World, with markets in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia. Amway has a small holding company named Alitcor. Amway also launched Access Business Group.

In establishing these new companies, Amway pointed out distributors could directly order from Amway using the internet instead of going through their up-lined distributor. All products would be shipped directly to the customer’s home. Amway has now renamed the Quixtar brand as Amway Global.

One of Amway’s best known products is its cleaning product LOC, along with SA8 laundry detergent. Some of Amway’s health products include Hymm, Body Series, Artistry, and Glister. Health and beauty products help generate millions in revenue for Amway.

Amway’s most popular brand is the Nutrillite range of health supplements. Nutrillite products have been certified and honored throughout the health food industry. Nutrillite has led Amway’s sales, bringing in billions and dollars in revenue. Amway Nutrillite has been named one of the top brands in China.

Ten years ago, Alticor acquired the rights to the National Basketball Association’s Orlando Magic’s home arena. The DeVos family now owns the Magic. The Magic’s arena is known as the Amway Center. Amway has also sponsored the San Jose Earthquakes of Major League Soccer, the Women’s Professional Soccer League’s Los Angeles Sol, and the National Hockey League’s Detroit Red Wings. For the past few years, Amway has sponsored The Canadian Championship Soccer tournament.
